Hi Reader, My husband’s job booked his flight. But guess who got the miles? He did. Quick tip: Even if you’re not the one paying for a flight, like when your employer covers the cost, you can still earn frequent flyer miles. Just make sure your loyalty number is attached to the reservation or added at check-in. On a recent Delta trip, we even earned 2,500 bonus miles because his bag didn’t show up at the carousel within 20 minutes. (They guarantee it, and if they miss it, you get compensated.) I shared this on TikTok, and the number of people who didn’t know you could do this? Mind-blowing. Don’t let those easy miles go to waste. I wish more people knew Delta will actually give you 2,500 SkyMiles if your checked bag doesn’t arrive at baggage claim within 20 minutes of your flight landing. You just go to Delta’s website, search ‘Bags on Time,’ log into your SkyMiles account, and fill out a quick form within 3 days of your flight. #delta #checkedbags #bagsontime And if you’re not signed up for any frequent flyer programs yet, stop what you’re doing and register now (they’re free). Every mile counts toward that future family vacation, whether it’s a quick beach escape or a bucket list road trip. Travel on! Tonya P.S. If you're traveling Delta soon, set a timer when you land. If your bag isn’t there in 20 minutes, claim those bonus miles! Easy win.

Hi Reader, I’ve been thinking a lot about how strange it can feel to talk about trips and travel plans when the world feels… like it’s on fire. There’s no pretending it’s not heavy out there. The news is heartbreaking. The weight is real. And yet ... I’m still over here writing about travel.Still helping busy parents plan their next trip.Still sharing flight tips and hotel ideas and dreamy destinations. Because for so many of us, travel isn’t about running away. It’s about remembering who we...
Hey travel bestie, In 2019 I set a big goal.I wanted to travel every single month. And I did it. It was fun and full and memorable. It was also exhausting. By the end of the year I felt like I was chasing a checklist more than I was enjoying the trips themselves. So in 2020, I told myself I would slow down. (The world clearly took that to heart. Sorry about that.) Fast forward. In 2025 I traveled every month again, but it felt completely different. Some big trips, some small weekend trips....
Hi friend, If you are staring at your cart thinking, My teen does not need more stuff, you are not alone. When our kids get older, the gifts they remember most are the trips, the experiences, and the moments that feel different from every other day of the year. Not the sweater that went to the back of the closet on December 26. So this year, consider swapping a few “things” for an experience gift that turns into a future trip together. And the best part. None of these ideas needs to be...
